The Geneva Motor Show, which was once a big hit, has lost its former glory. Despite this, European automobile manufacturers still continue to attach importance to the fair. One of them is the Swiss Microlino AG. The company has now introduced the Microlino Lite model, which stands out with its Citroen Ami-like features.
Citroen Ami rival Microlino Lite features and price
Microlino, one of the important competitors for Citroen Ami, introduced the lower-priced Lite model to compete with Ami. The car, prepared according to the L6e standard for use without a license, has a lower speed than the first version of Microlino. Accordingly, Microlino Lite has a speed of 45 km/h like Citroen Ami.
The Microlino Lite model has a BMW Isetta style design and its door opens from the front, like the previous version. The two-seater car is ahead of its rival Citroen Ami model in terms of range. Accordingly, the model has two separate battery options with 5.5 kW and 11 kW power. However, the most prominent feature of Microlino Lite is its high range. Accordingly, the vehicle offers a range of 100 km even with low battery capacity. In the 11 kW model, this range is around 177 km. Citroen Ami range is 75 km.
The 5.5 kW battery in the Lite model is charged in 2 hours, and the 11 kW battery is fully charged in 4 hours. The battery capacity of the vehicle is 2.2 kW. The price of Microlino Lite is quite interesting. Accordingly, the price of the vehicle was announced as a monthly rental. Accordingly, pricing is at 156 euros or 169 dollars per month for a 48-month, 5,000 km/year rental.
So, according to this model, it is possible to use the vehicle with a monthly rental fee of 5300 TL. The purchase price for Microlino Lite has not been announced yet. Even though the first version of Microlino has not arrived in Turkey, there is a possibility that Microlino Lite will arrive. The European sales price of Microlino is 15 thousand euros. In this sense, Lite will have a much more affordable price.
It will be possible to use the model, which appeared at the Geneva Motor Show, with a moped driver’s license for 14-year-olds in some countries in Europe. However, Microlino Lite, which is unknown whether it will come to Turkey, does not meet B1 standards like Citroen Ami.
Here, the version of the vehicle with a 5.5 kWh battery weighs 571 kg. For a B1 class driver’s license in Turkey, the vehicle must weigh 400 kg or less and its engine power must be 15 KW or less. Although Lite meets this standard with its engine power, it cannot enter this class due to weight. In Europe, this limit is stated as 600 kg. In this sense, the vehicle can be used with an M class driver’s license.
