With the arrival of the summer months, sweltering heat follows us. It is possible to cool off a little at home or outside, but what about inside cars? When we try to get into cars that have been waiting under the sun all day long, the steering wheel and seat are burning due to the heat, making us experience hell in this world. But Nissan found a solution to this issue. Here are the details…
No more air conditioning: Nissan cools vehicles easily thanks to its new paint technology!
There is a funny meme that has been known for years. When you turn off the air conditioning (the famous AC button) in small engine vehicles, the vehicle suddenly accelerates and gives a nitro effect, as if in the Fast and Furious movie. Of course, this is a joke, but air conditioning was causing great problems in vehicles with really small engines.
Problems such as engine strain, increased temperature, and excessive fuel consumption prevented users from using air conditioning no matter how hot the weather was. However, opening the windows is not a sufficient solution. Because this time, there is constant wind, noise, etc. coming from the windows. dealing with problems. Additionally, opening the windows completely increases fuel consumption.
But Nissan found a new solution to this issue. This paint, developed with a company called Radi-Cool, contains special metamaterials. Cooling is provided thanks to two microscopic parts inside. One of these parts reflects infrared rays from the sun, and the other produces electromagnetic waves that dissipate heat. In this way, the body of the car remains cooler than vehicles painted with traditional paint methods.
Testing of the paint actually started in 2023. In the tests carried out at Tokyo Haneda International Airport, the Nissan NV100 painted with the new technology recorded 12 degrees of cooling in the body and 5 degrees of cooling in the interior compared to the version painted with traditional methods. These values are expected to increase further with developing technology.
