Microsoft’s Sticky Notes application for Windows 10 and Windows 11 has been renewed. The first reactions to the application, which was re-updated with a focus on OneNote, were negative. While the updated application offers some new features, it is thought to have lost the features that make the application useful.
Sticky Notes update with Windows 11 draws criticism
The new Sticky Notes are still being tested under the Microsoft 365 Insider program. Therefore, it is unclear why it was widely distributed before it was finalized. The revamped version now comes with OneNote. So even if you don’t want OneNote, it’s not possible to just use Sticky Notes.
Most importantly, he observed that the redesigned application ran at lower performance compared to the old version. This defeats the purpose of being designed as a simple note-taking tool. The slower interface reduces the appeal of the app for quick note-taking.
Some users also reported that notes disappeared after the update. However, since it is a test version, it is thought that these errors can be fixed.
In this context, many users have returned to the previous version of Sticky Notes, which can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. This version builds on old features while also providing OneNote synchronization between devices.
Although the redesigned application is still in the preview phase, it has received positive reactions from many users. In this context, Microsoft is also asked to address performance issues before removing old options.
